{"id":2008,"date":"2023-08-07T22:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-08-08T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sigcorp.com\/insights\/automated-incomplete-grade-processing\/"},"modified":"2023-08-07T22:00:00","modified_gmt":"2023-08-08T05:00:00","slug":"automated-incomplete-grade-processing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sigcorp.com\/insights\/automated-incomplete-grade-processing\/","title":{"rendered":"Automated Incomplete Grade Processing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This process allows an incomplete grade to be replaced by a final grade, by running a Banner Process, if a manual entry has not been made to the incomplete grade by a specified date. The following setup is required &amp; ideally should be set up <strong>BEFORE <\/strong>registrations within a Term:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On SHAGRDE you will want to \u201ccheck\u201d the <em>Incomplete Grade Ind<\/em> box for every grade that represents an \u201cIncomplete\u201d grade and enter a University Policy default grade (in the <em>Incomplete Grade Default<\/em> box). The <em>Incomplete Default Grade<\/em> is the grade that will replace the incomplete grade after the extension deadline has passed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sigcorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Blog-Automated-Grade-Processing-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14750\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>2. On SOATERM (for each desired Part of Term) enter the <em>Extension Date<\/em> for the incomplete grade. The extension date is the date Banner will validate against when the <em>Incomplete Grade Process<\/em> is run.  If the extension date is \u201ctoday\u201d or in the past, Banner will automatically update the Incomplete Grade to the <em>Incomplete Default Grade<\/em>. If no extension date is entered, the date will default to the last day of the term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sigcorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Blog-Automated-Grade-processing-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14752\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>3. On SHAINCG, set up the rules for the <em>Incomplete Default Grade<\/em> and the <em>Incomplete Extension Date<\/em>. Check the <em>Override Grade<\/em> if you want to allow the faculty to be able to pick a Grade besides the <em>Incomplete Default Grade<\/em>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sigcorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Blog-Automated-Grade-Processing-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14753\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Utilize the <em>ANY, Shorten<\/em> or<em> Lengthen<\/em> options on the I<em>ncomplete Grade Rules<\/em> to allow the faculty to adjust the <em>Incomplete Extension Date. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sigcorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Blog-Automated-Grade-Processing-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14754\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>4. On a schedule, daily or by term, run the process, SHRCINC.  The <em>Incomplete Grade process<\/em> will automatically change the entered grade from incomplete to the <em>Incomplete Default Grade<\/em> on the <em>Incomplete Extension Date<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enter Desired Term Code (this is the term that you want to update Incomplete Grades) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Optional to Enter a LEVEL  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Optional to Enter CRN  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Enter a Reason Code (this is a reason for the grade entry for \u201cwhy it is being changed\u201d)  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Chose to Include Student ID or NOT within Print  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Chose to break your Print job by Term, CRN, or NOT at allChose your Run Mode (Audit or Update)  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Future Date can only be used in AUDIT mode  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Optional to a Enter Grade CommentDecide to Recalculate GPA (Yes or No)  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Decide to Print Grade Substitutions (Yes or No) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter USERID for person who will be seen as the &#8220;grade changer&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sigcorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Blog-Automated-Grade-Processing-5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14755\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>5.
